In this course you will continue to learn more about form, space, lighting, color and compositional strategies. All professional artists have ‘procedures’ they have developed to produce compelling work with efficiency. We will look at some of those methods and adapt them to our subject matter, mainly landscape.

This course is for people with little or no experience in using acrylic paint. We will begin with the essentials of color mixing and strategies, as well as tonality and intensity. We will look at composition strategies and all the basic knowledge that is necessary to create compelling paintings.

NEW COURSE – Learn the essentials of abstract painting using acrylic paint. Subjects will range from semi-representational to total abstraction. Explore ten ways of seeing, drawing, and painting with an emphasis on the principles and elements of design. Develop abstract imagery in your paintings in a supportive atmosphere, with demonstrations and individual attention.

Still-life has always been a fundamental subject for painters. Still-life both fruit and floral will be demonstrated from drawing through painting covering composition, form and colour. Painters will be guided with step-by-step instruction in acrylic and water colour.
Suitable for basic through intermediate levels. Demonstration videos will be available for viewing on the instructor’s site to augment the sessions. Supplies not included. Instructor: Tony O’Regan
