Tony O’Regan has an extensive background in art and design spanning more than 30 years as an exhibiting artist, teacher and designer. He holds a 4 year honors diploma in painting with a Masters Degree in Design (Architecture Specialization). Tony has had design responsibility and/or significant input for numerous major civic buildings over the years. He was a faculty member in interior design at Kwantlen Polytech. Univ. for seven years and currently teaches art and design related courses at Emily Carr University of Art and Design (15 years+). He also teaches art and design courses at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby in a program the Center features as “Tony’s Art School”. He was a founding instructor for the UBC Garden Design Program and taught there for over 14 years. Tony also maintains a teaching and painting studio in White Rock, BC. A particular painting interest is in combining natural and built forms with the human figure.

There are videos and other posts on architectural design model building, portfolio design and design school application strategies, advice on entry to architecture school, art school, and other graduate design programs. You will also see material helpful on setting up and promoting a design business. If you are interested in drawing/painting the face and figure, general & design drawing for things such as urban design, interior design, garden design, landscape design and industrial design , you will find plenty of useful material from an experienced pro. Some particular interests are anatomy and perspective (also blues and bluegrass music, to come.) One of the best ways to stay motivated and enjoy a subject is to teach it!
