Painting Rocky Mountains Series

4 ONLINE Classes – Sundays: May 2, 9, 16 & 23, 2021

Learn to paint Mountains with Art Master Tony O’Regan! Tony is a painter and teacher with 20 years experience teaching across Vancouver and at the University of BC. Semiahmoo Arts will be hosting his new course ‘Painting Canada’s Majestic Rocky Mountains’. In this class you will learn to paint the scenic wonders of Western Canada; Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks and Mount Rundle in Banff.

The processes and techniques for addressing mountain terrain, snow and lakes, will be demonstrated and addressed in this exciting online workshop. Both watercolor and acrylic are demonstrated and artists are welcome to work in either of these mediums. Class is at the intermediate level, so some previous experience is recommended.  The demos are video-recorded by the instructor and will be available for streaming on his Website, so participants can review and practice after each class. Since the class is presented via Zoom, some experience with Zoom is recommended.

Tony is a White Rock resident and holds a Masters in Environmental Design, as well as a 4-year Honors Diploma in Painting with 20 years teaching at major universities.

In this demo, skilled BC artist and educator Tony O’Regan will introduce attendees to the techniques and practices that make up his Top Ten Studio Tips. This fast-paced demo will span multiple art mediums and pieces of valuable advice and insight. In the painting category, attendees can look forward to learning how to paint with erasers, how to use rubber resist and gum arabic with watercolours, and gaining insight into Tony’s famous “put & take” style paint.

Painting Mountains, Lakes, & Trees Series

FEBRUARY 7-28, 2021

This is an online Zoom video course for those who wish to paint the scenic wonder of Western Canada. We will paint reflective lakes, rocky shores, forest and mountains. Some experience in either watercolor or acrylic is recommended, but all drawing, color mixing, and painting is thoroughly demonstrated by well-known instructor Tony O’Regan. Videos of all the lessons will be posted for a few months on his website if you wish to review the lessons.

The course is on four Sundays from 2-4 pm, beginning February 7th through to February 28th.
Participants supply own materials, list to be provided.
